As part of the Foster Success team, the Program Coordinator advances the organization’s mission by ensuring teens and

young adults have access to a continuum of programs and resources as they transition out of foster care. Working in

close partnership with the Assistant Director of Program Delivery, the Program Coordinator helps ensure that Foster

Success’ programs are delivered with care, consistency, and equity. The role centers on building relationships with

participants, reducing barriers to access, and coordinating day-to-day program activities that promote financial well-

being, personal stability, and overall wellness. Through this work, the Program Coordinator contributes to a culture of

belonging and well-being across Foster Success’ impact areas and helps young people build the knowledge, confidence,

and resources they need to thrive beyond foster care.


The Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of Program Delivery.

This position will begin full-time, in Indiana, and will have an opportunity to become a hybrid or fully remote position

after onboarding.


Organization Overview

Foster Success’s mission is to hear, support, and empower teens and young adults transitioning out of foster care on

their journey to self-sufficiency. We are committed to improving the foster care system and ensuring that teens and

young adults transitioning out of foster care are educated, housed, financially stable, employed, and connected to a

support system by age 26. Our team accomplishes this through program delivery, policy change, and partnership

developments in the areas of K-12 & post-secondary education, workforce development, health & well-being, financial

empowerment, and youth engagement.


Primary Responsibilities

Program Administration

Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Insuring Foster Youth Trust Fund, Credit Build program, and

distribution of Park Passes. The coordinator will primarily split time between coordinating the Insuring

Foster Youth Trust Fund and Credit Build programs, while offering support to team members as needed.

Review applications, collect required documentation, complete intake assessments, and disburse funds

and referrals in a timely and organized manner. Coordinate with volunteers and act as the intermediary

between young people for the Credit Build program. Provide input on system and process

improvements. Problem solve and troubleshoot challenges as they arise. Support in additional,

occasional projects as needed.

Participant Support

Serve as the point of contact for young people seeking to engage in programs and for current

participants in need of support. Support those seeking resource connections related to their financial

well-being and empower young people in building long-term support networks. Work in partnership

with young people across program areas.

Data Tracking and Reporting

Maintain accurate documentation in the Salesforce system on a daily basis. Provide support in the

management of participant databases and keeping up-to-date information. Support in data collection

and analysis.

Payments

Process payments for Credit Build and the Insuring Foster Youth Trust Fund. Work with third-party

vendors to ensure timely payments are made. Track day-to-day spending to ensure compliance with

monthly budgets. Track receipts and ensure organized record keeping.


Position Requirements

● Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience working with individuals affected by foster care, individuals from

diverse backgrounds, or involved in the justice system

● Demonstrated success in the areas of program implementation, service coordination, and attention to detail

● Experience working with young adults between the ages of 14-26 from diverse backgrounds and the ability to

create inclusive environments for both participants and partners.

● Demonstrates comfort working alongside teens and young adults with varying strengths and challenges.

● Ability to represent Foster Success with regional community partners, agencies, etc.

● Ability to work well independently and as a member of a highly integrated and diverse team.

All Foster Success employees are required to:

● Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the Foster Success employment agreements and the

organizational Handbook, including all confidentiality requirements for all client information.

● Proficiency in computer skills and an experience with and knowledge of relevant software, particularly

Salesforce, Zoom, Google, and Microsoft Products.

● Have access to a secure and reliable internet connection.

● Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes some weekends and/or evenings in order to meet

responsibilities of this position and organizational goals.

● Must have reliable transportation for work-related travel.

● All team members are required to pass a background check and undergo fingerprint screening.
