Position Overview
The Vice President of Administration advances Foster Success’s mission by leading the organization’s core administrative infrastructure across three functions: Finance, People (Human Resources), and Information Technology. This executive ensures Foster Success has the financial systems, workforce support, and technology infrastructure necessary to operate effectively, responsibly, and securely at scale.
The VP of Administration provides executive oversight of financial management and reporting, Human Resources/People Operations, and Information Technology and data security. The position ensures these three functions operate efficiently, remain compliant, and scale to support organizational growth.
The VP of Administration partners closely with the President & CEO and the executive leadership team to align financial, people, and technology systems with organizational strategy and priorities.
The Vice President of Administration is a member of the senior leadership team and reports directly to the President & CEO.
This position is based in Indianapolis and will require presence in the downtown office 2 - 3 days / week.
Primary Responsibilities
· Finance & Fiscal Management - Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, internal controls, cash-flow planning, audit coordination, and financial policies.
· People Operations & Human Resources - Provide executive oversight of Human Resources/People Operations, including recruitment, compensation, benefits, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, professional development, workforce planning, and compliance.
· Information Technology & Data Security - Oversee technology infrastructure, systems, and vendors; establish data governance, access controls, privacy, confidentiality, and information security practices.
· Executive & Administrative Leadership - Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team on organizational strategy, risk management, and resource allocation; lead and develop Finance, People, and IT staff.
As a member of the Foster Success Leadership Team, the Vice President of Administration is expected to:
· Work with Foster Success team members to shape organizational opportunities and strategies.
· Ensure financial, people, and technology systems support organizational priorities.
· Represent Foster Success in matters with significant financial, HR, or technology implications.
· Provide regular financial, HR, and technology updates to the CEO and Board.
· Maintain appropriate confidentiality and security of employee, participant, donor, and organizational information.
· Establish and monitor appropriate internal controls and organizational policies.
· Support compliance with applicable laws, regulations, contracts, and grant requirements.
· Seek regular professional development and learning opportunities.
Position Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in business, finance, human resources, information systems, or related field helpful.
· 10+ years of progressive leadership experience across finance, human resources, and/or information technology, ideally in a nonprofit setting.
· Deep commitment to empowering young people transitioning out of foster care.
· Demonstrated experience leading organizational finance systems and managing organizational budgets, with demonstrated oversight of HR and technology.
· Experience leading or partnering with Human Resources/People Operations.
· Experience overseeing technology infrastructure, systems, or information security.
· Demonstrated ability to develop scalable systems and improve organizational processes.
· Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
· Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams.

· Hold a valid Driver’s License and have access to a vehicle or the ability to rent a vehicle for work-related travel.
· Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills and experience with relevant software, including Salesforce and Google and Microsoft Products.
